Victor Wembanyama walked into the Frost Bank Center on Halloween dressed as Geralt of Rivia, the monster hunter from “The Witcher,” silver wig, black cloak, sword on his back. Then he went out and played like one, dropping a season high 43 points on the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 121 to 111 Spurs win.
The line was not just the 43. Wembanyama added seven rebounds, six blocks and four assists, and his three with 2:40 left pushed the lead to 118 to 107 and finished the night. San Antonio has now won four straight.

The costume is a tradition at this point. He arrived as Slender Man in his rookie year, 2023, and as No-Face from “Spirited Away” in 2024. The Spurs had no Halloween game last season, so the streak paused. This year it came back with his favorite series: he has called “The Witcher” his favorite books, saying, “The characters are so deep.”

Most players treat Halloween as a photo. Wembanyama treats it like a bit he has to back up. A 7 foot 4 monster hunter costume only works if the monster hunting follows, and 43 with six blocks is exactly that.
