Heidi Klum turned herself into a giant severed hand for Halloween, and the hand is hers. The costume she wore to her 25th annual Heidiween party in New York on Saturday night is a life sized replica of her own left hand, bloody wrist, red nails and all.
Her legs are two of the fingers. Her face sits up at the wrist, with only her eyes and mouth showing through the gore. The details go all the way down: gold rings on the fingers, a recreation of her green stone wedding ring, and a tiny finger tattoo that reads “Tom” for her husband, Tom Kaulitz.

The idea started with Klum staring at her own hand. “I was looking at my hand and I was like, I wonder if I could fit in a hand,” she told People at the party. “I was looking at my fingers, and I was like, fingers could actually be legs.”
Special effects designer Mike Marino and his ProRenFX team built the costume from scans of her hand. It took four months to make, and roughly five to six hours to get her into it on the night.
“TALK TO THE HAND. #HeidiHalloween 2026 HERE WE GO.”

She arrived at Cathédrale, the restaurant inside the Moxy East Village, in a truck covered in red “DANGER” signs, and actors in yellow hazmat suits helped her down. Questlove, Neil Patrick Harris and Offset were among the guests at the 25th anniversary party.
Twenty five years in, Klum is still the only person competing in this event. Everybody else just shows up and hopes.
