Four years to the day after Takeoff was killed in Houston, Quavo went into the vault. He posted throwback behind-the-scenes footage of Take at a studio photoshoot and kept the caption to three words.
“My heart”
Quavo, captioning the footage he posted on the anniversary

Takeoff was shot and killed outside a downtown Houston bowling alley on November 1, 2022. He was 28. Quavo, his uncle, was with him that night, and the two had just released their joint album as Unc and Phew a few weeks earlier.
The grief never really left the music. Quavo has said he was not done grieving even now, and in September he confirmed that he and Offset are recording one final Migos album in Takeoff’s honor, with Takeoff’s own vocals on it, and a tour behind it.

No announcement, no rollout, just old footage on the one day it would land hardest. Long live the Rocket.
