Nicki Minaj and New York Governor Kathy Hochul side by side

Nicki Minaj Called Gov. Hochul an Evil Woman Who Will Not Escape God’s Wrath, and Hochul Told Her to Get Outside and Stop Going to Trump Rallies

Nicki Minaj went at the governor of her home state on Wednesday, six days before New York picks its next governor, and Kathy Hochul answered her at a press conference the same day.

The Queens rapper opened with a post calling Hochul an “evil woman” and telling the Democratic Party to forfeit her seat, because even if Hochul wins on Tuesday she will still drag the party down.

“She will not escape God’s wrath. She did not denounce evil when she had the chance.”

Then she dug up the clip that has followed Hochul since 2024: Hochul on a conference stage saying she wanted to open the world up to Black kids growing up in the Bronx who do not even know what the word “computer” is. Nicki answered that one in all caps, asking how Black people and Christians could vote for “this vile wicked curse of a woman,” and closed with “Vote BLAKEMAN!”

In the same stretch of posts she also claimed Trump has won three elections. He has won two, in 2016 and 2024.

“Maybe she oughta get outside and get offline a little more. And stop going to Trump rallies, it’s kinda poisoning your mind.”

Hochul was asked about the posts while speaking with reporters, and that was her whole answer. Bruce Blakeman, the Nassau County executive running against her, took the assist on X: “Nicki, I’ve got the U-Haul ready. It’s time to fire the worst governor in America.”

A Marist poll from early October had Hochul up 53 to 42, and Nicki is deep in this race herself: on Sunday she flew to Michigan on Air Force One and took the stage at a Trump rally. In 2018 she endorsed Hochul for lieutenant governor on the Cuomo ticket. Eight years later she is telling New York to fire her.
