Nicki Minaj did not just ride into Michigan on Air Force One. On Sunday she ended up on stage at Donald Trump’s rally in Port Huron, chanting “We love Trump” into the mic while the president stood right next to her.
She got her first moment before she ever touched the mic. Trump was working through Ohio Senator Jon Husted’s physique, kept coming back to Husted’s ass, and joked that he does not usually look at men that way. Then he turned to Nicki in the crowd and told everybody she has a nice ass. She stood up and waved. Trump added that he would say the same thing about Mike Rogers, the Michigan Senate candidate the whole rally was built for, if it guaranteed him a victory.
A little while later, Trump brought her up for real and introduced her as the queen of rap. Nicki told the crowd she is honored to be working with this president and that he represents resilience. She called this a turning point and said Michigan needs to lead in the movement.
“I am so honored to be working with this president, he represents resilience, you know.”

The stage speech caps a full day of Nicki campaigning at Trump’s side: the Air Force One flight in, the onboard interview where she called these midterms the most important of our lifetimes, and now a rally appearance in front of a packed McMorran Place Arena, nine days before the November 3 vote.
