Lil Durk Got Put in Solitary for Talking Back After Guards Kept Searching His Cell and Finding Nothing, Two Days Before His Bond Hearing

Lil Durk beat the murder for hire case in September and he is still sitting in a cell. Now he is sitting in a smaller one: the Chicago rapper was moved into solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles on October 30, days before the bond hearing that decides whether he waits for his next trial at home.

The move came after guards kept searching his cell and kept finding nothing, according to TMZ reporting sourced to Jose Rojas, a Bureau of Prisons union secretary. Sources told the outlet Durk questioned why he was being singled out, and a deputy warden accused him of talking back. No contraband has reportedly been found in any of the searches.

For privacy, safety, and security reasons we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody.

This is not his first stretch in isolation at that jail. His lawyers said an earlier stay that began in August 2025 over an alleged Apple Watch kept him locked in about 23 hours a day, barred from in-person visits and cut off from commissary.

Wednesday is the day that matters. Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald hears the bond request on November 4, with Jay-Z and J. Cole among the names who wrote in for him and Sony offering to guarantee up to $1 million. Durk has pleaded not guilty in the separate racketeering case, and that trial is not set until August 2027.

So he walks into the biggest hearing of his year straight out of isolation, and the Bureau is not explaining any of it.
