Mary J. Blige Stopped Her Vegas Show to Call Out a Fan Who Was Booing Her and Asked for Them to Be Politely Removed

Mary J. Blige was halfway through her Las Vegas residency show on Wednesday night when somebody in the crowd started booing her, and she stopped everything to deal with it on the spot.

The moment happened at Dolby Live at Park MGM, where Blige is performing her “My Life, My Story” residency. She was standing at the microphone between songs when the boos got loud enough for her to hear, and instead of moving on to the next record, she addressed the person directly.

“To the bitch that’s booing, you didn’t have to come here. I hope someone sees you and politely removes you.”

She followed it by asking what the fan spent their money for, and called them an idiot. The rest of the crowd cheered her on. Blige then apologized to everyone else for having to go there, saying sometimes she just has to go in, because that is where she is from.

About 20 minutes later the show was right back on track. Blige brought out Wyclef Jean as a surprise guest, and the two performed his song “911” together.

There is no word on whether the booing fan was actually removed from the theater, or what set them off in the first place. What is clear is that booing Mary J. Blige at her own residency, in the middle of her set, was never going to go the way that fan planned.
