The wrestling world is hurting right now. Benjamin Satterley, known to fans as Pac in AEW and Neville in WWE, has died at 40. AEW announced the news Sunday night.
What makes it hit harder is that he was in the ring just one day before. Pac wrestled his final match Saturday at All Out, facing Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He lost the match, shook Andrade’s hand, and even showed up later in the main event. Nobody knew it would be the last time.
Satterley started wrestling in 2004 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. He joined WWE in 2012 as Neville, where he became known as “The Man That Gravity Forgot,” a two-time Cruiserweight Champion famous for his Black Arrow finisher. He signed with AEW in 2019 and became one of the company’s most electric high-flyers.
No cause of death has been announced. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said an autopsy would be conducted Monday. AEW president Tony Khan paid tribute, calling Satterley a beloved husband and friend and praising his excellence and dedication to the sport he loved. Rest in peace to one of the most gifted athletes to ever do it.
