A University of Michigan student shoves Liz Benichou to the ground and is arrested
A University of Michigan student was arrested on campus Sunday after shoving conservative influencer Liz Benichou to the ground during a debate stop in Ann Arbor, and the video of it became one of the most watched clips of the weekend.
Benichou was in town with Liberty Under Fire USA, a conservative youth group touring campuses to debate students. The argument at the group’s table turned physical as the event was wrapping up, and campus police who were already on scene for the unpermitted event arrested the student on the spot. She fought the arrest the whole way to the police car.

University police say the student was taken into custody, processed and released pending warrant authorization, and that the case is being forwarded to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Police said no injuries were reported. Benichou’s manager told Mediaite she hurt her lower back in the fall and plans to press charges.

Benichou posted later Sunday that she is okay. On Monday she told “Fox & Friends” the attack would not dissuade her from doing the campus stops. The student has not been publicly identified, and no charges had been filed as of Monday morning.
