The woman accused of shooting up Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s home is officially facing the music. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 36, was indicted by a grand jury on 14 felony counts, including attempted murder. The indictment was unsealed Wednesday in an LA courtroom, where Ortiz pleaded not guilty and a judge held her on $2.6 million bail.
The details are still wild. Prosecutors say Ortiz drove a Tesla from Orlando, Florida, all the way to the couple’s Beverly Hills area home on March 8, then fired at least 20 rounds from an AR-15 style rifle. Rihanna and Rocky were inside an Airstream trailer on the property. Their three kids were in the second-floor nursery with the nanny, and bullets hit the nursery’s exterior wall. Rihanna’s mother and staff were also on the property. Nobody was physically hurt.
The DA did not hold back. “This is a person who wanted to kill Rihanna,” Deputy District Attorney Alexander Bott said outside court. “Everyone else was collateral damage.” The indictment was actually returned on June 18 but stayed sealed for three months while Ortiz went through psychiatric evaluations. A judge ruled her competent to stand trial on Tuesday, so the case is now on a fast track. Rocky addressed it back in June: “Somebody attempted at [harming] me and my family. It took away a lot of peace and happiness of being able to just be free.”
