They Arrested Him for Shooting Up a Homecoming Game. Two Days Later He Was Out on Bond.

Adam Abdihakeem Adam, 18, posted a $100,000 bond and walked out of the Hennepin County jail Saturday night, two days after his arrest in the Eden Prairie homecoming shooting. He is due back in court this afternoon.

Police say Adam shot two teenagers, 18 and 17, outside Eden Prairie High School during the Oct. 2 homecoming football game. The gunfire sent fans fleeing and cleared out the stadium. He was arrested Oct. 8 near Highway 55 and Penn Avenue in Minneapolis.

The release is already catching heat. President Trump’s Rapid Response 47 account blasted the move on X, writing that a “radical left judge” granted “no-condition bail,” and pointed to police statements linking the shooting to rival Somali gangs.

“A radical left judge immediately granted him no-condition bail.”

Charging documents cited by FOX 9 allege Adam was driving his brother’s car when a fight broke out among about 10 people in a school parking lot. He allegedly got out, opened fire, and fled. Investigators tracked his phone with the car before, during and after the shooting, then searched his St. Louis Park home and found clothes matching the shooter in surveillance video.

His first court appearance is set for 1:30 p.m. today in Hennepin County court.

Adam faces two felony counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of second-degree riot while armed. Police say the investigation is still active and more arrests are possible. Two days from a jail cell to a courtroom. Today the judge decides what happens next.
