Nelly told “The Breakfast Club” this week that Taylor Swift once flew him to Houston on her jet and paid him $50,000 in cash, handed over in a McDonald’s bag, for a performance that lasted about three minutes.
He was in St. Louis when she called out of the blue back in 2011. She told him she and her friends had made up a routine to “Hot in Herre” the night before, and she wanted him to come perform it at her Houston show the next day. She also told him she did not really have a budget like that, and did not want to disrespect him.
What she did have was a plane, a hotel, and $50,000. Nelly had one condition.
“Can you put that in a McDonald’s bag? But I would’ve done it for free.”

She sent a G5, in his words “not 4, 5,” to pick him and his kids up. Right before he went on in front of 56,000 people, her manager Robert Allen tossed him the McDonald’s bag with the $50,000 cash inside.

The package also came with the presidential suite at the Four Seasons by the stadium, the whole top floor. He never saw it. He did the show and went straight back to the airport.
The two have shared a stage a few times since, including her 2015 St. Louis stop, where they performed “Hot in Herre” together. Her team has not commented on the story.
