A 40-year-old Florida woman was arrested Sunday after deputies say she shot the manager of a Palm Bay storage facility who told her to stop sleeping inside a storage unit.
The manager was doing her Saturday morning rounds around 10 at the Public Storage on Babcock Street when she found two women sleeping inside one of the rented units, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said. She told them sleeping in there was not allowed and that they needed to leave.
That is when things turned. The sheriff says one of the women, Kandice Jo Pierce, came back with a small-caliber handgun and fired two shots. One of them hit the manager. She got away, found cover and barricaded herself after being shot. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
She should be considered armed and dangerous.

Deputies spent most of Saturday searching the area with the sheriff’s helicopter team in the air. Pierce was taken into custody Sunday and booked into the Brevard County Jail on an attempted murder charge, an unrelated arson warrant and shooting into a dwelling. The charges are accusations that have not been proven in court.

She shot somebody over a storage unit. Let that sit.
