Druski is set to host “Saturday Night Live” on November 7, and if the booking holds, the comedian who built his name on phone skits becomes the first internet creator to ever host the show.
Variety reported the booking on Tuesday through multiple sources, and Puck reported it independently. Representatives for the show and for Druski declined to comment, and NBC has not announced it officially, so the story is running as reported, not confirmed by the network.
Druski, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, is 32. He started posting skits in 2017, built characters everybody in the group chat knows, and turned that audience into Coulda Been Records and a sold out arena tour.
He built the audience on his phone. Now he gets the biggest stage in sketch comedy.

In June he hosted the BET Awards and became the youngest host in that show’s history. That night is the proof of concept here. He opened as his megachurch pastor character and held a live room for hours.
The show has handed cast spots to online comedians before, but the host chair has always gone to movie stars, musicians, and stand ups. Season 52 has already featured Jalen Brunson, Dakota Johnson, and Shane Gillis. A musical guest for November 7 has not been announced yet.
