Judge Tells Rick Ross: ‘I Have No Idea Who You Are’

Rick Ross’ lawyer tried to play the fame card in court this week. It did not work.

Ross turned himself in to Miami Beach police Thursday morning on a felony charge of battery by strangulation and a misdemeanor battery charge. The charges come from a September 29 police report filed by his ex, Jazzma Kendrick, about an August 28 incident at his Star Island home. She says Ross snapped over a photo she was tagged in on Instagram, slapped her, twisted the collar of her hoodie until she couldn’t breathe, and slammed her into a wall. He pleaded not guilty.

At the bond hearing, Ross appeared by video in a red jumpsuit. His attorney, Bradley Horenstein, asked Judge Mindy Glazer to expedite his release, telling her, “Mr. Roberts is a celebrity.” Glazer’s response: “So what does that mean?” She then looked at Ross and delivered the line now going viral: “Hi, Mr. Roberts. I have no idea who you are, except as somebody here in the court who’s going to be treated fairly just like everybody else here.”

50 Cent, who has been feuding with Ross for years, wasted no time. He reposted the courtroom clip with the caption, “The judge don’t know that fool LOL BOOK HIS STUPID ASS.” He had already posted Ross’s mugshot hours earlier with “LOL ARRESTED, I NEED THAT BODY CAM ASAP!”

Ross bonded out on $5,000 and told reporters the allegations are “totally fabricated.” Then he laid out his weekend: Dubai on Friday, Paris on Saturday, and rigatoni with heavy marinara on Sunday. His lawyers say the ex filed the report a month after the alleged incident and asked the public not to prejudge. His arraignment is set for October 22.
