Diddy is back in the hole. Federal officials at FCI Fort Dix moved him into solitary confinement Wednesday night, hours after an NBC News investigation exposed what four former unit-mates described as a pampered, VIP-style life behind bars.
According to the report, Diddy was not doing time like a regular inmate. The four men told NBC he had people cooking for him, curry chicken, pizza and empanadas on the menu, cleaning his toilet and shower before he used them, making his bed, doing his laundry, and giving him Chinese-style massages on demand.
Then there was the tech. NBC says it obtained video of Diddy using a contraband cellphone inside the prison. Sources claimed he scrolled Instagram on illicit phones, viewed nude photos sent by an ex, ran a secret Instagram account with no profile picture that his own publicist follows, and watched movies on a jailbroken tablet. Including, allegedly, the 50 Cent-produced Netflix docuseries about himself.
Money made it all move. People connected to Diddy reportedly funneled thousands of dollars a month into other inmates’ commissary accounts to keep the services coming. Guards allegedly smuggled in premium liquor, Hennessy included, for weekend sessions. One inmate told NBC, “Hell yeah, I drank with him.”
One of the men summed up the whole operation: “This is not some normal s–t you see in jail. This is some rich s–t. It looks crazy, but again, it’s Diddy.”
Diddy’s team says the whole thing is overblown. His spokesperson Juda Engelmayer told ABC News that the coverage has turned ordinary prison life into headlines: “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence within the rules and he patiently awaits the court’s decision on his appeal.” The Bureau of Prisons would not discuss his case specifically.
This is not his first trip to solitary. Diddy landed in the SHU back in July after a fight with another inmate. He is serving a 50-month sentence after a jury convicted him in July 2025 on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution. He beat the heavier racketeering and sex trafficking charges. His listed release date is January 21, 2028, though that date has moved several times.
