Dr. Alexander Aslani was a 57-year-old German plastic surgeon in Marbella, Spain, and one of the most famous butt doctors on the planet. He pioneered the “supercharged BBL,” had more than 200,000 Instagram followers, and drew patients from over 40 countries to his Cirumed clinic.
On Wednesday evening, a hooded gunman walked into that clinic and shot him several times in the head. The shooter fled on a motorcycle. Medics found Aslani still alive but could not stabilize him, and he died minutes later.
On Thursday afternoon, Spain’s National Police arrested an 18-year-old as the suspected killer. The case is under judicial secrecy, so police have not released details of how they caught him.
What investigators are trying to pin down now is whether the killing was a hit. El País reports Aslani had received recent threats, and police are weighing whether a disgruntled patient ordered the murder. An organized crime angle came up early and was set aside.
It is the third firearm homicide in Marbella in about a month. The Malaga medical college condemned the killing and held a minute of silence on Thursday.
