There is a new way to eat McDonald’s and it sounds completely unhinged. People are taking a full chocolate chip cookie and stuffing it inside a double cheeseburger. They are calling it the Cookie McDouble, it is going viral, and the internet cannot decide if it is genius or disgusting.
The whole thing started with Texas content creator Kierra Jonae. She posted a TikTok on Sept. 21 showing how she eats her double cheeseburger, with the cookie tucked between the buns. “What y’all know about putting that cookie on your double cheeseburger?” she says in the clip. “Y’all don’t know game. For real.”
From there it took off. Food creators started reviewing it, including Morgan Chomps, who tried it on Sept. 23 and admitted, “It’s honestly not that bad. The texture of the cookie gets a little lost in everything else going on… But if anything, the cookie doesn’t really add a flavor; it just adds some sweetness.” YouTube is now full of people trying it for themselves, and some longtime fans swear they have been putting cookies in McDoubles for years.

Even McDonald’s is watching. The brand commented under Jonae’s TikTok: “I stopped asking questions atp.” McDonald’s Senior Marketing Director Guillaume Huin told USA Today the hack has been popular with fans since 2020, but added, “It’s the first time it is going so widely viral, though.”
This is the second McDonald’s menu hack to blow up in about a month. Before the Cookie McDouble, people were dipping cheeseburgers into Coca-Cola and Sprite, which split the internet the same way.
Sweet and savory has worked before, but a cookie in a cheeseburger is a different kind of experiment. The real question is simple: would you try it, or is this where you draw the line?
