Offset’s viral casino meltdown was never real. The rapper now says the whole confrontation was staged as part of the rollout for his upcoming album.
Footage from a Paris casino showed Offset going off on staff after his seat at a blackjack table was given to someone else. He claimed he had taken the casino for $200,000 and demanded treatment to match his wagers, telling the table nobody should touch his chips.
Then he flipped the script. Offset told outlets the confrontation was put on for the cameras to push his album rollout, complaining that treating it like a real incident was messing up his rollout. If the performance was real enough to fool the blogs, the rollout worked.
The album is GMFU, dropping October 23. Offset announced it during Paris Fashion Week, saying the project comes from his heart after people he loves hurt him. It follows his first song with Quavo in five years and the long rumored Migos reunion to honor Takeoff.
A manufactured crash out as a marketing plan. That is either genius or the end of believing anything on the internet.
