Five people are dead in South Georgia after police found them shot at a house in Douglas late Friday night. Investigators say it could be a murder-suicide.
Douglas police got the shots-fired call around 11:09 Friday night. Officers rolled up to the home and found five people with gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced all five dead at the scene.
Local outlet DouglasNow reports the shooting happened at a home on Robin Way in the Touchton Woods neighborhood. Their reporting says a man is believed to have shot four other people and then turned the gun on himself, but authorities have not confirmed that version of events. No names or ages have been released, and police have not said whether people were gathered at the house when it happened.
This is now the third straight weekend Georgia has been hit with major gun violence. Last weekend in Vienna, two men were killed and 35 people were hurt at a homecoming block party, and a 17-year-old was arrested Friday in connection with it. Before that, 12 teenagers were shot at an 18th birthday party in Macon, with five suspects charged.
Officials say more details are coming Saturday.
