The Atlanta Dream finally made the WNBA Finals, and their reward might be playing the biggest games of the season in a gym that holds 3,500 people.
State Farm Arena is booked for every Dream home date. A Sombr concert takes Oct. 22, and the Hawks play at home Oct. 24 and Oct. 29. Those are Games 3, 4 and a possible Game 6.

The fallback is Gateway Center Arena in College Park, the Dream’s old 3,500-seat home. They averaged 9,695 fans across three playoff games at State Farm. Golden State, meanwhile, gets all four of its home games at Chase Center, which seats 18,064 and has sold out every game this season.
“League sources tell me, barring a last-second change of plans, the Atlanta Dream will play Games 3 and 4 (and 6 if necessary) of the WNBA Finals at Gateway Center Arena, capacity 3500.”

The timing is what stings. The Dream announced Oct. 6 that every home game moves to State Farm Arena starting in 2027 under a multi-year deal. They just cannot get in the building for the Finals. The team says it is hunting for a bigger Atlanta venue, but as of Sunday night nothing was locked in, and fans are heated.

And this is the building Golden State gets to play in:

Angel Reese manifested this Finals run a year ago. She probably did not manifest the 3,500-seat gym.
