The Cardinals Already Gave Up on Marvin Harrison Jr. The Texans Want Him Back With C.J. Stroud

The Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a trade that sends wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. out of town, according to ESPN and NFL Network. He will sit out Sunday’s game against the Lions while the deal gets done.

Two and a half seasons. That is how long the generational prospect experiment lasted in Arizona.

The Cardinals took Harrison fourth overall in the 2024 draft, the son of Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, after two unanimous All-American seasons at Ohio State. His rookie year was fine: 62 catches, 885 yards, eight touchdowns. Then came injuries, a quarterback change, and a new head coach in Mike LaFleur. This season he has five catches for 85 yards on 12 targets while Michael Wilson and Trey McBride eat.

“The one certainty is that Marvin Harrison’s time in Arizona is done.”

The Houston Texans are the front-runner, per the same reports. That would reunite Harrison with C.J. Stroud, his college quarterback. In Stroud’s final season at Ohio State, Harrison caught 77 passes for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns. Arizona is asking for a second-round pick and more, and nothing can be finalized until after Sunday’s games.

Houston gets the talent. Arizona gets the lesson.
