Offset Ignored a $100K Casino Lawsuit So Long the Judge Told the Casino to Just Take the Default

Offset is about to learn what happens when you don’t answer a lawsuit. A Michigan judge just told Detroit’s MotorCity Casino Hotel to go ahead and pursue a default judgment against him over an alleged $100,000 gambling debt, because he never responded to the case.

“I’m betting more than anybody in this motherfucker.”

The casino says Offset signed a $100,000 gambling marker back in March 2024, basically a short term loan the casino can collect from your bank account. When they tried to collect, the account reportedly didn’t have the funds. They sued him in March of this year for fraud, breach of contract and violation of Michigan’s bad check law, which allows double damages. That’s where the $200,000 number comes from.

Judge Qiana Denise Lillard found Offset got proper notice and just never answered. His rep previously said both sides were “working toward a resolution,” but nothing was ever filed. No final judgment yet, and he hasn’t been found liable.

Meanwhile, on October 5, Offset was on camera in Paris arguing with blackjack staff over a seat dispute, claiming he bets $10,000 to $20,000 a hand and had already won $200,000. He later said the whole thing was a skit for his album “GMFU,” which drops October 23.

The default judgment hearing has a deadline of October 23. Same day as the album drop. Life comes at you fast.
