The zen era is over. 2K just dropped the hammer.
NBA 2K confirmed this week that the first wave of permanent bans in NBA 2K27 is live, targeting accounts using cheats and scripts to gain an unfair edge through shooting aids and input manipulation. The bans are retroactive all the way back to Early Access on August 26, so nobody gets to pretend the first month of cheating did not count.
2K says every ban is reviewed and confirmed before it is applied, and this is only the start. More waves are coming as the detection tools keep improving, and repeat offenders can catch a console or PC ban on top of losing the account.
The best part is the reaction. Players who built accounts with 99 win percentages off scripts are now crying on streams about losing everything overnight, and the rest of the community is watching with popcorn. Some are claiming the bans hit them by mistake, but 2K says each one was reviewed first, so good luck with that argument.
Play fair or start over. There is no third option now.
