Billboard reports Drake did not submit any of his three 2026 albums for 2027 Grammy consideration. ICEMAN, HABIBTI, and MAID OF HONOUR are all sitting this one out.
He told everybody already. On “MAKE THEM KNOW,” the closing track on ICEMAN, Drake raps that he is never submitting the album because he knows they would never consider it, adding this might be the one year he won because of how they like to position it.
This is not new behavior. He kept More Life out of the process in 2018, withdrew Certified Lover Boy in 2022, and pulled Honestly, Nevermind in 2023. The one recent exception was Her Loss with 21 Savage, which got submitted for the 2024 ceremony and lost Best Rap Album to Killer Mike.
The context writes itself. “Not Like Us” won five Grammys in 2025, and Drake has an appeal pending in his UMG lawsuit with oral arguments starting in December. Meanwhile ICEMAN broke his own record for the longest run atop Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, passing the 12-week mark he set with Take Care.
He is not asking for the trophy. He is saying he does not need it.
