DJ Vlad’s company, Hot In Here, Inc., has filed a federal copyright lawsuit against Joyner Lucas, saying Joyner reposted a VladTV clip without permission and cropped out the VladTV branding. The clip was an Aries Spears segment from VladTV that went on to pull heavy engagement once Joyner posted it. Court filings say Vlad’s side initially tried to resolve the situation privately by offering to drop the claim if Joyner would do an interview, but the negotiation reportedly fell apart after messages exchanged between the two sides. From there, Vlad’s company proceeded with the full lawsuit, asking for up to $150K in damages, legal fees, profit accounting, and a permanent injunction blocking future reposts.
Joyner Lucas responded first, posting on Instagram and arguing that Vlad was using the lawsuit as leverage to force him into an interview. Joyner presented the situation as pressure, not just copyright enforcement.

Vlad later responded with his own post, saying the clip was used without permission and that removing VladTV’s watermark crossed the line. He framed the lawsuit as protecting his platform’s content rather than anything personal
