Vic Mensa and Chance the Rapper finally hashed out some of the issues that strained their longtime friendship.
During the premiere episode of The Vic Mensa Show, Vic admitted that watching Chance’s success during the Acid Rap and Coloring Book eras created jealousy and competition between them. Chance also apologized for turning down the idea of having Vic open for him on tour, admitting that at the time he simply didn’t want to share the stage.
That one hit Vic especially hard, as he explained that he was struggling financially around that time and could have really used the opportunity. The conversation got emotional, with both Chicago rappers apologizing and reflecting on how their friendship went from growing up together and building SaveMoney to years of unresolved tension.
