A Breakdown Of The ASAP Rocky Case

A quick breakdown of the ASAP Rocky case.

In November 2021, A$AP Rocky allegedly pulled a gun on his former friend and collaborator, A$AP Relli, during a heated confrontation in Hollywood. Relli claims Rocky shot at him twice, grazing his knuckles. Rocky insists he used a starter pistol that only fires blanks to defuse the situation.

Rocky’s facing two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. If convicted, he could be looking at up to 24 years in prison. Rihanna has been showing up in court to support him, which has added a lot of media attention to the case.

Recently, the case has been gaining traction again because of some intense courtroom drama. During the trial, Rocky’s high-profile attorney, Joe Tacopina, got into a heated exchange with the prosecutors, that has been going viral on social media. This has brought even more attention to the case and has people talking.

The defense argues there’s no real evidence of a shooting—no bullet casings, no bullet holes, nada. They claim Relli’s just trying to get some cash and attention out of the whole situation. They’re sticking to the story that Rocky used a starter pistol. On the other hand, the prosecution calls Rocky the aggressor and relies on Relli’s testimony.

The trial is still ongoing, and it’s been a rollercoaster with lots of twists and turns.
